ABOUT THE DIGITAL ACADEMY

Principal's Message

Clair ToledoLos Lunas Opportunity Schools is excited to announce the expansion of our online Digital Academy program to include 9-12th graders for the 2022-2023 school year. The expansion will include two new programs for high school students as part of our Digital Academy program.

The first opportunity is a fully online program. It will be a combination of live support from certified teachers with flexible independent learning, using online learning platforms. It is ideal for self-directed, independent learners with support from an adult. Students are expected to log on for 6-7 hours per day and parent support is required a minimum of 1 hour per day.

The second opportunity will combine scheduled in-person learning, live online support from certified teachers and independent work using our online learning platforms. This program is ideal for students who need more support but also value the flexibility of an online program. Students will need to be physically present at in-person learning 2-8 hours a week and log on to learning remotely for 6 hours per day. Parent support is required a minimum of 1 hour per day and families will be responsible for transportation to in-person learning.

These two Digital Academy opportunities will replace the current DLA programs offered at Valencia High School and Los Lunas High School. Current VHS DLA students, current LLHS DLA students and current FSDA 8th graders, will have the option to return to in-person learning at their zoned high school for 2022-2023 school year or enroll in the Digital Academy at the Los Lunas Opportunity School. Students wishing to return to in-person learning at VHS or LLHS should pre-register for classes at their current school during spring pre-registration sessions.
